Nationalism is person's great love for their nation. We live in a time of globalism and many races live together. So we thought about Nationalism.

Some people think that Nationalism is necessary because Nationalism leads people to cooperate. For example, the World Cup and Olympics. When we have those events, we cheer for our team together with arms hanging on each others' shoulders. And along with people who are strangers we cheer for the same team loudly in street. And Nationalism helps maintain unique culture. In the case of Korea, Nationalism helps our unity.

But over-nationalism can bring about racial discrimination, like the pogrom of Nazis. Also, it can lead nations to cultural and economical recession. For example, historically "JoSeon dynasty's closing-the country-policy" makes the nation's development slow. And it can lead to intolerance of others. Last year, members of our nation showed intolerant to JaeBum, who just complained about Korea because of his pain in a different culture, so a young man who had a bright future became depressed and brought guilt to his idol group.

Consequently, I think over-nationalism is not good. Proper Nationalism is useful. But if it exceeds appropriate levels, our society will have many problems.

I'm Lee Young Eun and I'm 19 years old. I was born in Seoul on the 5th of April. My birthday is on Arbor Day and I think this is special, so I like my birthday. When I was 8, I lived in Su-One. But, my grandfather had died, so grandmother was alone. For my grandmother, my family came to Naju. I went to Naju Middle School and now I go to Naju High School. My family is grandmother, mother, father, younger brother and me. My father and mother are farmers. We have a pear farm. Whenever I want to eat pears, I can. Also, we grow rice and have some plum trees and vegetables. This year my younger brother became a freshman at GeumSeong High School.

My hobby is reading novels. I especially like fantasy, like Harry Potter, and mystery, like The Da-Vinci Code. But other genres are okay, too. Also my hobby is riding bikes. Except for during wintertime, when I go home (I live in dormitory), I often ride a bike. I hate cucumbers and I like chocolate very much. Nowadays, I drink hot chocolate everyday after dinner. My favorite sport is soccer, but I don't like playing soccer. I just like watching soccer games.

My dream is to be a lawyer. When my mother was young, she wanted to be lawyer. And I also hope to be. If I become lawyer, I will show justice to people. Because of me, I hope that members of our nation will believe in this nation.
